The Fit Happy Primal Health Coaching Model
The Primal Health Coaching system is based on Integrative Health Coaching, one of the most well-studied, scientifically validated methods of health coaching. According to Duke University’s Integrative Medicine department, “Integrative Health Coaching empowers clients to make lasting health behavior changes that are the cornerstones of lifelong well-being. It bridges the gap between medical recommendations and patients’ abilities to successfully implement those recommendations into their complex lives.”
Health Coaches are a significant and vital part of any collaborative care team focused on preventative care, compliance, execution, support and client success.
Health coaching is about changing habits and knowing how to reverse the ones that aren't serving us and may be causing chronic conditions. We are complex beings and our health is multi-faceted, it's not just diet and exercise although that is a piece of the puzzle. There are several areas of our lives we need to assess and set goals in so that we can become our happiest and healthiest selves. It is so important that we are supported in all of these areas, and feel encouraged to reach for higher ground in our lives. We were designed to live abundantly, be healthy and strong, and experience great JOY. Our potential is a treasure, hidden inside each and every one of us ready to be tapped into. "Following a Primal diet was something I had read about previously but honestly thought was a little “too extreme” of a shift for someone like me - I’m from an Italian family where food, wine and especially carbs are a way of life! If it wasn’t for Lindsey, who introduced me to the Primal lifestyle I would probably still be struggling with my diet. Lindsey really gave me the hard dose of “diet reality” that I needed and helped me realize that I needed a lifestyle shift – not just a diet plan.
I challenged myself try doing 30 days to start with, and quickly realized how much better I felt on a clean primal-aligned diet. I'm 34 years old, and since my teenage years I had suffered from frequent headaches/migraines (for example almost every day I used to wake up half-way to a headache – I would get a migraine every few weeks, and be out of commission for days), but since changing to a primal-aligned lifestyle I haven’t experienced any headaches or migraines AT ALL. It has been 2 years now and my life has completed changed! No more migraine medications and overusing OTC pain medications to cope.
As an added bonus I dropped 4 sizes, I also have energy throughout the day again. "I cannot thank Lindsey enough for her endless support and enthusiasm. When I started working with Lindsey, I was under the care of an endocrinologist for Hashimoto's disease- an autoimmune disorder in which your body attacks your thyroid. Despite being treated with medication, I was still so very tired ALL the time and was feeling depressed and anxious. Luckily, Lindsey did not give up on finding out what was going on with me.
Lindsey asked about my diet, my medications, sleep patterns etc and referred me to Dr. Leigh Lewis as she believed I may want to have Dr. Lewis take a look at my labs and get her opinion regarding the treatment of my thyroid issue.
I immediately went to see Dr. Lewis and within two weeks, I felt like a completely different person! I know that sounds "dramatic", but it is the truth. I have so much more energy and am excited about life again. I am finally losing the weight I have been carrying for over 4 years!
